Dickinson CVB - 2008 Public Organization of the Year - ND Tourism Conference
The tourism organization of the year was awarded to the Dickinson Convention & Visitors Bureau. In its 25 years of existence, the Dickinson Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) has become a vital fabric of the community. With its innovative projects drawing people to southwest North Dakota, the Dickinson CVB is integral to the tourism and economic development activities of the region. The growing number of people visiting Dickinson is evident in the increased tax revenues, which have almost doubled in ten years. Just some of the other successes for the Dickinson CVB include coordination of the Southwest North Dakota Tourism Conferences, development of the Historic Downtown Walking Tour, creation of a signature event, continued promotion of the Heritage Pavilion, and creation of the state's first vacation packages. The CVB furthers their reach to promote and coordinate the Southwest Region of North Dakota.
